Manual Handling
This certified Manual Handling course is given in accordance with the guidelines of the Safety Health and Welfare Act, Manual Handling of loads regulations (General Applications) 2007 which covers the anatomy, the spinal column, related spinal injuries, risk assessment, correct manual handling techniques and the importance of good posture and fitness levels.

Assessment
Course Theory Assessment:
The course theory assessment is the final module of the course and contains 20 questions. A pass rate of 60% is required. You can repeat the assessment if you don't succeed the first time round.

Important: On successful completion of the course theory assessment, you will be emailed a link to download a provisional certificate. You must download and print your provisional certificate and have it with you when you do the course practical assessment (see below). You are not certified for Manual Handling until you complete and pass the course practical assessment.
Course Practical Assessment:
To arrange your Manual Handling practical assessment, please contact our training department at academy@canavanbyrne.ie to make an appointment to complete your practical assessment online by Zoom. Assessments take place at various times Monday to Friday. The practical assessment takes about 15 minutes. Please have your printed provisional certificate with you. Once successfully completed you will receive your full Manual Handling certificate by email 2 to 3 days later.
